Dragon on The Couch: The Dragon watched Men (Rent), Alex Garland’s latest film. The Dragon liked the body horror elements but felt like the narrative was lacking. Next, she watched The Shining: Forwards and Backwards (Theaters). She enjoyed the experience but felt the first 10 minutes were jarring. Next, she watched Claydream (Theatres), a documentary about Will Vinton. She thought it was very interesting especially if you are into that kind of art. The Dragon went to Joe Bob corner and watched Nosferatu The Vampyre (Shudder), a remake of the silent film. She found it entertaining and enjoyed it overall. Finally, she started the show Players (Paramount +). She feels it is a clever e-sports satire of The Last Dance.
Berto on the Bed: Berto watched Guardians of The Galaxy (Disney+), and Guardians of The Galaxy Part 2 (Disney +). He thought they were both still very good, especially when paired together. Berto next watched Mother! (Prime). He thought it was great if you go in understanding that it’s a retelling of the Bible, and the last 30 minutes are amazing to watch. Next, he watched The Bourne Supremacy (HBO). He found it to be a good spy action film. Berto also watched The Fugitive (HBO). He was reminded how great Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford are as actors, and thought the film was a good thriller. Next, Berto watched Last Shift (Prime), it was a passable supernatural horror film. Finally for Joe Bob Corner, Berto watched Mayhem (Shudder). He thought it was a great premise with a great 1st act, but found the rest of the film to be lackluster and boring.
Dragon at the Movies: This week’s deep dive is the 1998 action film Blade, currently streaming on HBO Max.
