Dragon on The Couch: The Dragon watched Heart, Beating in the Dark (Theatre), a low budget Japanese film. She said she enjoyed it and enjoyed the Q&A she saw with the director afterwards. Next, she watched Trainspotting (Paramount), which she thought was a good movie about bad people. Finally, she watched Sick (Peacock), a newer slasher film. She felt it was an ok slasher with a disappointing theme/message.
Berto on the Bed: Berto watched Rocky Balboa (Paramount+), the 6th Rocky film. He enjoyed the idea and the chances the film was taking, but didn’t like parts of it. Next, he watched Murder on the Orient Express (Prime), a film based on the Agatha Christie book. He enjoyed it but thought it was a hard story to tell in film form. Next, he watched Shotgun Wedding (Prime), a Jennifer Lopez rom-com. He said the first half was rough to watch, but the second half got better and more enjoyable. Then he watched Iron Eagle (HBO), an 80’s film about a teenager who has to fly a fighter jet to save his father. He thought it was a silly, fun, low stakes film that was common in the 80’s. Finally, he watched Barbarians (Prime), a fantasy film made by Canon. He thought it was really bad and slow despite its silly nature.
Dragon at the Movies: This week’s deep dive is the 1989 dark comedy The War Of The Roses, currently streaming on HBO Max.
