Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon went to the theatre to watch the new Marvel movie Eternals, which she generally liked and doesn't understand why people think it is worse than any other Marvel movies. On her couch she saw the 2016 Paul Verhoeven movie Elle (not streaming), a French thriller/dark... dramedy? that she liked for the most part, and the last of the John Carpenter films, The Ward (not steaming), which is just bad. With that, she gives her definitive ranking of the 18 John Carpenter directed films with theatrical releases.
Berto on the Bed: Berto stayed in Halloween horror corner and watched Hellraiser (Prime), which he admitted is not a good movie but still liked it for its horror imagery and BDSM/sexual themes, and Hellraiser 2 (Prime), which is just not a good movie. Berto also saw Haunt (Prime), a pretty good entry into the haunted house horror movie genre. Finally, Berto watched David Lynch's 1984 Dune (HBO), which is not weird enough to be fun but still kind of interesting (if not confusing) take on Dune.
Also mentioned were the podcasts You Love to See It and Movie Movie Podcast.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2021 star-studded sci-fi epic Dune, currently streaming on HBO and in Theatres.
