Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon ventured into the theatre this week and saw the man's man movie The Northman (Theatres), which she loved and recommends Robert Egger's other movies as well. She also left the couch to see the new Marvel movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Theatres), she felt like it was a slightly middle of the road Marvel movie, which is still enjoyable. Finally, on her couch she watched the Sam Raimi noir thriller A Simple Plan (Cinemax), which she really enjoyed even if the movie was stressful to watch.
Berto on the Bed: Berto also went out to the theatres and saw The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (Theaters), which he felt was pretty good, although agrees it wasn't as over the top as you might expect. In his Shudder corner, Berto saw Housebound (Shudder), a New Zealand horror comedy he really enjoyed although it was a little all over the place. In the Joe Bob section of Shudder corned he saw Society (Shudder), a horror movie you watch for the effects and Deathgasm (Shudder), another New Zealand horror comedy that is mostly pretty good. On his Shitty Horror Corner, Berto watched Solarbabies (Prime), a weird post-apocalyptic sci-fi/horror film he watched so we don't have to. Berto also saw the buddy cop movie Showtime (Tubi), which was fine but forgettable. Finally, Berto watched the adult animated fantasy anthology Heavy Metal (Rent), which he felt was disjointed but fun enough to watch and entertain him all the way through.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2001 Ben Stiller comedy Zoolander, currently streaming on Netflix.
