Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon went to the theater to see House of Gucci (Theaters), which she said was both a bad movie but enjoyable at the same time. She also went out to see Crime Wave (IMBD TV, Roku TV), a 1985 Canadian comedy that was odd but very enjoyable. Finally, she finished season 3 of Succession (HBO), which she said she really loved and feels it is the American version of British shows about royalty.
Berto on the Bed: Berto went to the theater to watch Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City (Theater), which he said was a bad movie unless you are a fan of the video games and wanted fan service. Next, he watched the 2019 version of A Star Is Born (HBO) and raved about how much he loved it, especially the directing and Lady Gaga’s performance. Berto also watched Silent Night, Deadly Night 1 & 2 (Tubi) and thought they were both fun 80’s slashers, despite the 2nd movie having a 40 minute recap of the first. For Berto’s next segment Flix for Chix, he watched 12 Dates of Christmas (Prime) a Groundhogs Day style film that takes place on Christmas Eve, which he found acceptable. He watched Single All The Way (Netflix) which he thought was great despite not rooting for the two leads to fall for each other. Finally, he watched Snowmance (Prime) which is an utterly insane fun Christmas movie where it’s alluded to that the main character falls for a snowman who’s been magically transformed.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2019 Christmas rom-com Christmas Catch, currently streaming on Netflix.

Dragon on The Couch: The Dragon went to the theatre to see Ghostbusters: Afterlife (Theaters) which she spoils (sorry), but luckily she felt the film is terrible so no one should care. She also watched tick, tick… BOOM! (Netflix), the new Lin Manuel Miranda musical, which she really enjoyed. Finally, she watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (Rent) with commentary from the hosts of the podcast Til Death Do Us Blart, despite loving the podcast, she hated the film and can’t dissuade people from viewing it enough.
Berto on the Bed: Berto spent a lot of time on Tubi this week. First, he watched Wolf’s Creek (Tubi), an Australian slasher loosely based on a true story that he felt was alright. He then watched Fresh Meat: Jeffrey Dahmer (Tubi), a good documentary about one of the most famous serial killers. Next, he watched the 2006 remake of Black Christmas (Tubi), which he thought was a bit silly, but fun. Next, he saw the 2009 remake of Last House on the Left (Tubi) which he thought was alright, but the ending went on for too long. For Berto’s next segment Flix for Chix, he watched A Princess for Christmas (Netflix), which he thought was alright, but cheaply done. Next he saw Falling for Christmas (Prime), which had an absurd premise but had the fun tropes Berto likes in his holiday films. Finally, Berto watched Midnight at Magnolia (Netflix), which was missing some of the Christmas movie tropes, but was enjoyable.
On this week's deep dive, we watched the 1999 high school rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You, currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Dragon on the Couch: This week the Dragon stayed in her TV corner and finished Squid Game (Netflix), which she overall liked but felt was a little too long and did not end well. She also finished the third season of the show What We Do In The Shadows (Hulu), which is based on the movie of the same name (Fubo), that she absolutely loved and highly recommends. Along those lines, The Dragon highly recommends everyone watch Wellington Paranormal (HBO), a New Zealand spoof on ghost hunting shows that she also LOVES. Lastly, the Dragon interrupted Berto on the Bed to mention the show Pen15 (Hulu).
Berto on the Bed: Berto had a very busy week. He saw The Matrix Revolutions (HBO) in preparation for the coming sequel and said it was utterly bad, and makes him worry about the fourth film. He also saw Venom: Let There Be Carnage (Theaters) which he thought was bad, but had some funny moments and was at least different from other superhero movies. He watched Incident In a Ghost Land (Netflix), a film he thought was ok overall, but has a very good twist in it. Next, he watched Leatherface (Tubi), a prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Fubo) that he thought was really bad. He saw Intouchables (Netflix) a French BOATS (Based On A True Story) film about a down and out man becoming the assistant of a quadriplegic man, he loved it and felt it was very uplifting. Berto continues his new segment Flicks For Chicks and watched Love Hard (Netflix), a new Netflix Christmas rom-com that he utterly hated and, frankly, made him angry. Next, he watched a few Christmas love movies: Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star (Netflix) which he enjoyed because he felt it was just Vanessa Hudgens having a good time. And finally he watched Rodeo & Juliet (Prime), which has a typical Hallmark film plot with zero money that he thought was not that good.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive was the 1999 dark comedy Election, currently streaming on Hulu.

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon visited the art-doc corner and watched The Lost Leonardo (Rent), which she thought was an interesting look at the financial side of high-end art. She also watched a double feature, programmed by friend of the show Andrew, showing of Tim Burton's 1994 film Ed Wood (Rent) and Ed Wood's 1957 film Plan 9 from Outer Space (Tubi). She highly recommends watching this particular double feature and in that order, this is Tim Burton at his best and the film by Ed Wood is an amazing movie to watch from a film history perspective. Finally, she watched Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut Don Jon (Netflix), which she thinks is well acted, but finds baffling and does not recommend.
Berto on the Bed: Berto saw the new William's sisters' biopic starring Will Smith, King Richard (HBO/Theatres), and was surprised by how much he liked it. On the Dragon's recommendation, he watched Willy's Wonderland (Hulu), a Nic Cage film with a weird premise and even weirder performance that he really liked. In Berto's flicks for chicks' corner, he saw Emma (HBO), the Jane Austen adaptation that he thought was very colorful, and Edge of Seventeen (Netflix), a coming-of-age movie about a teenage girl he really enjoyed. Finally, Berto watched Highlander 2 (Prime) so we don't have to.

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched the new documentary Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed (Netflix), which she was hoping would be uplifting but should have read the subtitle, she still liked it. She also watched The Ice Storm (Rent), a 1997 Ang Lee film she'd never heard of and ended up loving.
Berto on the Bed: Berto went out to the theatre and saw Eternals (Theaters), which he did not overall love and felt like it would have been better as a mini series. He also mentioned watching Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press (Netflix), which he felt was a too biased documentary that he does not recommend. Berto also watched Pain and Gain (Hulu), the Michael Bay dark comedy starring The Rock that he thought was great. In Berto's horror corner, he watched Winchester (Netflix), a ghost horror movie based on real life that he felt was ok. Lastly, he watched the new The Rock movie Red Notice (Netflix), that he again thought was "not a waste of time."
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2006 dystopian future Alfonso Cuarón film Children of Men, currently streaming on Prime.

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon visited her morbid corner this week and watched the docuseries House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths (Netflix), which is a true crime mini series from India that she enjoyed watching. She also ventured into the theatre and saw Halloween Kills (Theatres or Peacock), which is a slasher that she really enjoyed, though she thinks Halloween 2018 is technically a better movie.
Berto on the Bed: Berto watched the newest episodes in the series The Movies That Made Us (Netflix) and highly recommends, he really enjoyed the fun tone of the show and the interesting stories they tell. Berto also ventured into the theatres this week and saw Lamb (theater), which he felt was deliberately slow, weird, and he really liked. He saw another faux documentary horror movie called The Taking Of Deborah Logan (Prime), and he was surprised that he liked it, saying "it was not a waste of 90 minutes." Finally, Berto and his chick saw the 2019 Child's Play (Hulu) remake, which he felt was a good reimagining of the original and enjoyed the humor in it.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 2003 horror movie Final Destination 2, currently streaming on HBO.

Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon discusses the docuseries LulaRich (Prime), which is about LulaRoe, the MLM/pyramid scheme everyone remembers from Facebook a few years ago and she highly recommends. She also watched 2018's Halloween (Fubo or rent), which is the sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis that she also really loved.
Caroline's TLC Corner: Caroline stayed in the TLC/Discovery+ reality tv realm and watched 90 Day Fiancé, which she loves, and a spin-off show focusing on one couple called The Family Chantel, which she also highly recommends if you are into that kind of thing. Lastly, she recommends the show I Love a Mama's Boy, that she likes to use as a teaching moment for Berto.
Berto on the Bed: Berto and Caroline watched the Hell House LLC sequels (Tubi, Shudder) and both agreed they do NOT live up to the original, and REC (Fubo), which they both really liked. Solo, he watched the Rob Zombie movie Lords of Salem (Prime), which is just bad. He also saw John Carpenter's The Fog (Prime), which he felt had some good elements but the beginning was rough, and the Dragon agrees. Finally, he saw Hell Baby on Tubi - his new place to find c-grade horror - which is a comedy with horror elements that he said was a fun 100 minutes.
This week's deep dive is the 2011 found footage horror movie Grave Encounters, currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Episode 59 - The Evil Dead
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon ventured outside to see the French film Titane (theatres), which she really enjoyed and recommends you go into blind, but warns that you should really like body horror if you do. Also mentioned in this section was Raw (Netflix), a film by the same director. She also kept her John Carpenter streak alive with They Live (Peacock), a classic Carpenter sci-fi movie that is very fun, and Prince of Darkness (Peacock), a lesser-known Carpenter horror movie that she thought was great.
Berto on the Bed: Berto finished the show Midnight Mass (Netflix) and highly recommends. He also watched the Korean show Squid Game (Netflix), which he also really liked but felt they could have cut out some fat. While in the middle of Squid Game, Berto and his chick took a short break to watch Titanic (Netflix), which he felt was literally the perfect length with no wasted time. Still holds up. Lastly, Berto saw Annabelle: Creation (HBO), a perfectly ok horror movie that you can watch without seeing any of the other Annabelle movies.
Dragon at the Movies: This week's deep dive is the 1981 horror classic The Evil Dead, currently streaming on HBO.
