Episode 28 - Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched Mars Attacks (Hulu) and guys, it holds up. She jumped into Dragon's Complaint Corner to sh*t on Portrait of a Lady on Fire (Hulu) and professed her love for Call Me by Your Name (Amazon $2.99). She also watched American Movie (Amazon $2.99), a documentary about the making of the short film Coven, and loved both the doc and short.

Berto on the Bed: Berto stayed in the comedy field and watched Royal Tenenbaums (Prime), a Wes Anderson classic he highly recommends. He also watched and enjoyed the 90s rom-com Beautician and the Beast (Prime), starring Fran Drescher (national treasure).

This week's deep dive is the 2006 mockumentary on the slasher genre Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (Prime).

Episode 27 - Eating Raoul

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched Nomadland (Hulu) and thought it was a touching, well done look at a specific type of American. She also jumped back into reality TV and revisited Ink Master (Netflix), and will go back to a high school favorite, Miami Ink (Prime) once that is done.

Berto on the Bed: Berto dove into Dragon's Morbid Corner this week and stayed on brand for the deep dive by watching Cannibals: Survival and Ritual (Prime), which he enjoyed but understands why others would find it boring, and reading The Indifferent Stars Above (book on Audible) about the facts surrounding the Donner Party, which he recommends.

This week's deep dive is the 1982 dark comedy Eating Raoul (HBO).

Episode 26 - When We First Met

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched Promising Young Woman (rent on Amazon) and enjoyed it. She also watched the 80s classic The Goonies (HBO) and couldn't take all the yelling.

Berto on the Bed: Berto watched Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (Netflix) and was disappointed with the too long docuseries. He also watched Framing Britney Spears (Hulu) and felt like history was rewritten.

This week's deep dive is the 2018 rom-com When We First Met (Netflix).

Episode 25 - Maria Full of Grace with Special Guest Jaime Perea

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched the documentaries Strip Down, Rise Up (Netflix) as recommended by Berto and was not impressed, and The Smashing Machine (YouTube) and was scared for all involved. She also watched Local Legends (Rent on Amazon) and was excited about her text convo with the director.

Berto on the Bed: Berto watched the supposed revenge movie M.F.A (Prime) and felt like it missed the mark. 

Jaime on his Phone: Our very special guest Jaime has been deep diving into the YouTube world of highly skilled metalworking.

This week's deep dive is the 2004 Colombian-centered drama Maria Full of Grace (HBO).

Episode 24 - House of the Devil

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched John Waters' Polyester (rent on Prime) with accompanying scratch and sniff card and the 2000 werewolf classic Ginger Snaps (Shudder, Tubi).

Berto on the Bed: Berto wasn't impressed with In & Of Itself (SPOILERS! Hulu) because he has no feelings. He also watched the documentary Strip Down, Rise Up (Netflix) which actually got him to feel, and the 2020 action movie Ava (Netflix), which missed the mark.

Episode 23 - Tango & Cash

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon watched In & Of Itself (Hulu) and highly recommends going in blind to watch it. She also wanted everyone to know she reads (listens) to books and mentioned three morbid corner ones on death and dying: Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, The Art of Dying Well by Katy Butler, and Advice for Future Corpses by Sallie Tisdale.

Berto on the Bed: Berto watched the iconic When Harry Met Sally (HBO) and assured us all it is still the movie all rom-coms wish they were. Berto also watched Night Stalker (Netflix) and agreed the docuseries missed the mark.  

This week's deep dive is the 1989 buddy cop action movie Tango & Cash (HBO).

Episode 22 - Mad Max: Fury Road

Dragon on the Couch: The Dragon dives into the early 2000s with Britney Spears' Crossroads with Rifftrax (not streaming) and the true crime documentary Capturing the Friedmans (HBO).

Berto on the Bed: Berto revisits the original Karate Kid with his chick (Prime) and discusses the British sci-fi/horror film Await Further Instructions (Netflix). 

This week's deep dive is the 2015 post-apocalyptic sci-fi action film Mad Max: Fury Road (HBO).

Episode 21 - City of God

Dragon on the Couch: Dragon stayed in her morbid documentary corner and watched I Love You, Now Die (HBO), The Ripper (Netflix), and Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer (Netflix).

Berto on the Bed: Berto watched Karla (Prime), a fictional drama about real life serial killer Karla Homolka, and the slasher Hatchet... and Hatchet 2... and Hatchet 3 (Prime).

This week's deep dive is the 2002 Brazilian acclaimed crime-drama City of God (HBO).

Episode 20 - Rampage

Dragon on the Couch: Dragon had a documentary heavy week and spoke about Heavy Metal Parking Low (Prime) and The Painter and the Thief (Hulu).

Berto on the Bed: Berto kept the documentary theme going and watched Boiled Angels (Prime) and revisited everyone's favorite sign-along movie Almost Famous (Prime).

Also mentioned: King of Kong (Starz or rent on Prime), the Gilligan Cut trope and the Bechdel Test, and Crazy, Not Insane (HBO).

This week's deep dive is the 2018 sci-fi monster movie The Rock vehicle Rampage (HBO).

Dragon on the Couch: Dragon rapid fire spoke about a bunch: Sound of Metal (Prime), Freaky (Rental), Soul (Disney+), Kajillionaire (Rental), Citizen Kane (HBO), Tenet (Rental), Heaven's Gate: The Cult of Cults (HBO).  
Berto on the Bed: Berto double featured the documentaries Fyre Fraud (Hulu) and Fyre (Netflix), hated on Happiest Season (Hulu), and loved the silent 1927 film Sunrise (Rental).
